Should you wish to have a wonderful hotel break, RoomAuction addresses all your needs: over 55,000 hotels worldwide, a free booking system (no booking fee!), and many hotels with a 'bid now' option. What makes us unique is the bargaining power over standard hotel rates. You can set the price you want to pay for a room and get a discount up to 50% against a rack rate.
No, RoomAuction works as an interface between you and a hotel, therefore no booking fee is required.
No. RoomAuction only works as an interface between you and a hotel. The transactions are direct with hotels; therefore a hotel will get in touch with you and get all the details from you directly to secure your booking. That is the case with hotels with the 'bid now' option available. For all hotels with the 'book now' option, you will be required to give credit card details to our partner, as the booking will be then automatically confirmed.
In order to book a room through RoomAuction, go to the Home Page, provide your search criteria, select a hotel, scroll down the hotel entry and fill in the bidding form at the end of a hotel listing. The hotel will contact you within 24-48 hours to confirm your booking.
You can bid as low as 50% of the rack rate if a hotel hasn't stated otherwise, although most savings are between 25% and 35%.
If you state that you will dine at the hotel in the bidding form at the end of a hotel listing that may be an additional reason for the hotelier to accept a lower deal.
The shorter the notice the better deal you can get. If hoteliers are sure they will not be able to sell a specific room/night at a higher rate, they will accept almost any rate just to occupy the rooms.
Most hotels are full on Saturdays and empty on Sundays, so you have a much better chance of getting a bargain deal on stays that include Sundays. It will be quite difficult to get a discounted stay on Saturday.

It depends on how you set the acceptable rate (50% by default). However, you should be able to earn from £250 per month (£3,000 per year) on average, up to £2,000 per month (£25,000 per year). This data is based on the top performing hotels.
No, we are not here to compete with you, only to complete your existing methods.
Well, the system has been designed by hoteliers like you based on years of Room Sales, Management and Hotel Reception experience. The idea is well trusted yet new within the Hotel Industry. It aims to help you sell your empty rooms at a rate you can accept and that fits all potential customers. And yes, indeed, it is trustworthy!
Yes. At all times you have full access to the Hotel’s Control Panel, where you can change all the details to include: photos, description, room rates, hotel equipment, contact details; this service is provided free of charge and is available to all members.
No, we do not display your email, only your website adress, telephone and fax number, but never your email address. We also include detailed information about your hotel that includes 5 pictures.
No. Our system is based on individual enquiries, so you reply to each potential directly. That is why we are so flexible; there are no availability updates and no need for close-outs or room allocation.
No. You never have to guarantee your availability to Room Auction, though we have ways of directing traffic to the Dates and Days of the week you want to fill by publishing Bidding Tips in your listing. No room allocation!
You can direct customers to the days you want to fill - just Midweek or Weekend, for instance. No limits or restrictions with Room Auction.
There is no room allocation required with Room Auction, no need to hold rooms that could be left unsold.
Each Hotel has the ability to add different room types, so you can offer a Standard Double/Twin, a Premier or Deluxe Double/Twin, a Suite or any sort of Package.
No low rates. Only your Rack Rates are shown and you never have to accept any bids at rates that are too low. And with Room Auction you can up-sell to a better room or suite.
Controls are in place to stop any unacceptable bids. Bids lower than 50% of the Standard Price are rejected by default by the system. You can change that default 50% rate to the one that suits you better.
You never have to accept any bids, but please don't just refuse. 1.If you wish to refuse because you are full, you can suggest a sister property if you have one. 2.If you don't like the rate, PLEASE don't just refuse. Always (if you have room) offer what you want for the room. For example, if a customer’s offer is £109 for a Standard Room and this seems too low to you, you can reply that the Standard rooms are available at £129 and the Premium Rooms at £149.
Bidding is off your Rack Rate. You can fill your excess inventory at rates you wouldn't want your regulars to know about. No Brand or Rate erosion.
We don't hide any details concerning your hotel. Our subscribers are not just looking for a Post Code. You receive requests from customers that have learned all about your property from your detailed listing, before choosing it.
Yes, you choose the maximum discount rate. This way no bids under that rate will be sent to you. To change a default maximum discount rate that is 50%, send us an email.
